Decatur Heritage High School won the 2019 AHSAA Class 1A State Basketball Championship, defeating St. Luke 63-42 at the Birmingham-Jefferson Convention Complex in their first state championship appearance in 18 years.

The Eagles finished the season with a record of 32-4, the most wins in school history, and recorded 14 wins over Class 1A teams by more than 20 points.

The team was led by Seniors Noah Boler and Derrick Bishop and Junior GianCarlo Valdez, with Head Coach Jason Marshall and Assistant Coach T.J. McGee providing leadership.

The House of Representatives extends highest commendation to the Decatur Heritage High School Basketball Team for their exceptional achievement and directs that a copy of this resolution be presented for appropriate school display.
