Congratulates Kathryn Anderson on being recognized as one of Alabama Public Television's five Young Heroes of Alabama for 2019.

The Young Heroes of Alabama Scholarship Program recognizes students in grades 9-12 who excel academically, engage in public service, overcome adversity, and inspire others through character and deeds.

Kathryn, a student at Bob Jones High School in Madison, has overcome Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome and Mast Cell Activation Disorder while maintaining a strong academic record and serving in multiple leadership roles.

Founded the Stockings of Hope program in 2013, which has provided gifts and needed items to approximately 1,000 Alabama children and earned Bob Jones High School the Children's First Award.

Maintains memberships in the National Honor Society and National English Honor Society, serves as a Senator for the Student Government Association, and is on the Leadership Team for the Fellowship of Christian Athletes.
