Exempts agricultural work dogs from local leash and restraint laws while engaged in agricultural work, defined as dogs trained to herd or protect livestock or otherwise assist in agricultural work and actually or previously used for such purposes.

Exempts hunting dogs from local leash and restraint laws while engaged in hunting wild game, defined as dogs trained to hunt wild game with a handler.

Does not exempt dogs from state leash and restraint laws, only local ordinances.

Becomes effective on the first day of the third month following passage and approval by the Governor.

Passed the Alabama Senate on April 9, 2019 and the House of Representatives on May 30, 2019.
