SB136 Summary

• Waives all filing fees and regulatory fees charged by the Secretary of State and Attorney General for formation and operation of new veteran-owned businesses for three years.

• Waives occupational license fees charged by counties and municipalities for veteran-owned businesses, but does not waive professional license fees issued by the state.

• Applies to businesses established or started on or after January 1, 2019, with waivers lasting a maximum of three years from the business formation date.

• Requires veterans to provide proof of veteran status through a DD-214 form, Veterans Health Identification Card, or state driver's identification card with veteran designation.

• Requires the Secretary of State, Attorney General, and local governments to submit annual reports to the House Ways and Means Committee and Senate Fiscal Responsibility and Economic Development Committee detailing waiver applications, grants, and total dollar amounts waived.
