SB199 Summary

• Appropriates funds for support, maintenance, development, and capital outlay for Alabama public education for fiscal year ending September 30, 2020.

• Establishes funding from the Education Trust Fund, Alabama Peace Officers' Standards and Training Fund, Impaired Drivers Trust Fund, Driver Education and Training Fund, Special Education Catastrophic Fund, Public School Fund, and other listed funds.

• Sets the Education Trust Fund fiscal year 2020 appropriations cap at $7,125,895,252, with total ETF appropriations in this act equal to the cap amount.

• Requires $750,000 from the Examiner of Public Accounts appropriation for an evaluation and reorganization study of the State Department of Education.

• Becomes effective October 1, 2019.
