Applies to Baldwin County subdivisions and multi-family developments with more than 100 units or lots in any combination of phases.

Developers must submit to the county or city superintendent a development map, phases/units/lots information, expected number of school-age children, and unit/home specifications before plat recording or property sales.

County or city superintendent must examine submissions and provide granting authority a letter within 30 calendar days stating the impact on student capacity and any actions the school board may need to take regarding overcrowding.

If superintendent fails to send the required letter within 30 days, they are deemed to have no objection and the granting authority may proceed with approval.

Act becomes effective on the first day of the third month following passage and approval by the Governor.
