SB27 Summary

• Amends Section 17-9-50 of the Code of Alabama 1975 to increase the restricted zone around polling places from 30 feet to 100 feet.

• Prohibits individuals other than electors, election officials, judges of probate, sheriffs, deputies, precinct election officials, and watchers from entering the 100-foot zone on election day.

• Exceptions remain for those assisting electors and authorized election personnel who are permitted within the restricted zone.

• Effective date is the first day of the third month following passage and gubernatorial approval or the date it otherwise becomes law.
