• Authorizes the county commission to increase the coroner's expense allowance and salary after one year from the next term of office, with any increases effective at the next term thereafter.

• Permits the coroner to appoint a qualified deputy coroner with authority and responsibility equal to the coroner, at an annual salary of $6,000 payable from the county general fund, with the county commission able to adjust and increase this salary as needed.

• Repeals Act 2000-651 effective at the coroner's next term of office while preserving the coroner's use of county vehicles under Act 2016-235; takes effect immediately upon passage and approval.
