SB46 Summary

• Extends the discounted three-day group hunting license to all totally and permanently disabled persons, both veterans and non-veterans, not just military veterans who are 50 percent or more disabled.

• Renames the discounted license from "Physically Disabled Military Veteran's Appreciation three-day trip event license" to "Physically Disabled Sportsman's special three-day event license."

• Permits up to 10 disabled persons and up to 10 non-hunter assistants (resident or non-resident) to participate in sanctioned hunting events under the discounted license, charged at the nonresident all game three-day hunting license rate.

• Requires applicants to provide evidence of disability through receipt of disability benefits from federal Social Security Administration, railroad retirement, Office of Personnel Management, Retirement Systems of Alabama, state or local government entities, or physician certification of total and permanent disability.

• Preserves the existing discounted annual hunting license for physically disabled resident veterans and becomes effective on the first day of the third month following passage and gubernatorial approval.
