• Reduces the roofing contract cancellation period from ten business days to five business days after an insured receives written notice from their insurance company that a claim is not covered or insufficiently covered.

• Requires residential roofing contractors to furnish insured persons with a boldface statement (minimum 10 points) and a detachable "Notice of Cancellation" form before entering into a contract.

• Allows cancellation notice to be delivered by mail, electronic mail, or in person, with mail being effective upon deposit with proper postage and address.

• Prohibits roofing contractors from requiring any payments from insured parties until the five-day cancellation period expires, except for emergency services acknowledged in writing by the insured.

• Prohibits residential roofing contractors from representing or negotiating on behalf of homeowners in connection with insurance claims for roof repair or replacement.
