The Alabama Legislature commends Judge John England, Jr., for his outstanding service to the State of Alabama, the University of Alabama, and the community.

The University of Alabama named its newest residence hall "John England, Jr. Hall" in honor of Judge England's profound impact on the UA System and his service with integrity.

Judge England is a University of Alabama Law School alumnus who has served as a UA System Trustee since 1998, a Tuscaloosa County Circuit Court Judge, and previously served on the State Supreme Court and Tuscaloosa City Council.

The new residence hall is located beside Lakeside Dining Hall at the University of Alabama, with the board unanimously approving the naming.

The resolution expresses the Legislature's deepest admiration and appreciation for Judge England's immeasurable service and offers sincere best wishes for his continued success.
