SJR31 Summary

• Creates the Lieutenant Governor's Commission on 21st Century Workforce to study and make recommendations on workforce development coordination across state government.

• Commission membership consists of the Lieutenant Governor (serving as chair), 3 House members, and 3 Senate members, all appointed by the Lieutenant Governor within 30 days of the act's effective date.

• Lieutenant Governor shall ensure commission membership reflects the state's racial, gender, geographic, urban, rural, and economic diversity.

• Commission shall elect a vice chair and other officers at its first meeting and set dates, times, and locations for subsequent meetings.

• Members receive legislative compensation, per diem, and travel expenses for meeting attendance per Amendment 871 of the Alabama Constitution of 1901; House, Senate, and Legislative Services Agency provide necessary staff and support.
