• Commends and congratulates Renew Our Rivers for contributions to cleaning, protecting, and conserving Alabama's waterways over the past two decades.

• Recognizes that Renew Our Rivers began in 2000 as a community river cleanup organized by Alabama Power employees from Plant Gadsden and is now one of the nation's largest river cleanup programs operating across Alabama, Mississippi, Georgia, and Florida.

• Notes that more than 117,000 volunteers have collected over 15.5 million pounds of trash and debris from Southeast waterways, with more than 30 cleanups planned across Alabama in 2019 for the program's 20th anniversary celebration.

• Acknowledges that Alabama contains more than 132,000 miles of rivers and streams among the most biologically diverse waterways in the world, and recognizes Renew Our Rivers as one of Alabama Power's environmental stewardship initiatives.
