Commends Mrs. Connie Spears for her outstanding professional achievement upon retirement from the City of Madison Board of Education.

Mrs. Spears was appointed to the board in 2009 and served on Safety and Security, Special Education, Capital Plan, Finance, and Policy committees.

Served as the board's Legislative Liaison and worked with the Alabama Association of School Boards to advocate for K-12 public education at local, state, and national levels.

Held leadership positions with AASB including Advocacy Committee (2015-March 2019), Resolutions Committee (2010-2012), Leader to Leader Committee (2011-2014 as vice president), Federal Relations Network (2014-present), and Region Nine Director (March 2016-December 2018).

Holds degrees in Business Administration and Business Management from Auburn University and is a full-time community volunteer who has been active in the Madison community since 1984.
