• Amends Section 20-1-6 of the Code of Alabama 1975 to explicitly include meat from game animals in the definition of "perishable food" eligible for donor immunity.

• Grants good faith donors of canned or perishable food immunity from criminal and civil liability for injuries or deaths resulting from the food's condition, provided the food appeared fit for human consumption at donation.

• Limits donor immunity by removing protection for liability arising from an intentional act or omission of the donor, replacing previous language regarding gross negligence and recklessness.

• Maintains immunity for bona fide charitable or nonprofit organizations that receive and distribute apparently fit food without charge, except when injury or death results from the organization's intentional act or omission.

• Becomes effective on the first day of the third month following passage and approval by the Governor.
