HB166 Summary

• Amends Section 17-3-8 of the Alabama Code to increase the maximum working days for the Coffee County Board of Registrars from 199 to 220 working days each fiscal year.

• Removes Coffee County from the group of counties (Choctaw, Colbert, Cullman, Lauderdale, and Monroe) subject to the 199 working day limit in subsection (b).

• Adds Coffee County to the group of counties (Talladega and Tallapoosa) in subsection (a) that are authorized to meet up to an additional 30 session days each fiscal year at the discretion of the county commission chair.

• Takes effect on the first day of the third month following passage and approval by the Governor.
