• Amends Section 13A-12-27 of the Code of Alabama 1975 to exempt slot machines manufactured before 1960 from the crime of possession of a gambling device.

• Exemption applies only when the slot machine is intended for personal and private use of the owner or for public display as a historical artifact that is not accessible to the public.

• Possession of a gambling device remains a Class A misdemeanor for all other cases and for gambling devices other than pre-1960 slot machines.

• Bill is excluded from Amendment 621 requirements because it amends the definition of an existing crime.

• Becomes effective on the first day of the third month following passage and approval by the Governor.
