• Counties and municipalities may purchase or lease Secretary of State-certified electronic poll books and use them until the county commission adopts a different certified electronic poll book.

• Secretary of State cannot decertify an electronic poll book within 9 years of its purchase or lease unless it fails to meet certification criteria, with decertification for other reasons requiring 12 months' notice.

• Electronic poll books must meet 10 certification criteria including security, statewide voter registration system compatibility, signature requirements, data retention, and functionality for primary elections.

• Training and travel expenses for absentee election managers (when clerk declines to serve) are reimbursable as election expenses.

• Costs associated with electronic poll book acquisition and use—including purchase, lease, equipment, software updates, maintenance, and data population—are reimbursable election expenses.
