• Permits local boards of education to offer life skills instruction as an elective course or component within health education and physical education courses beginning in the 2021-2022 school year for grades 6-12.

• Requires life skills curriculum to include personal finance literacy covering savings, investments, wealth building, credit and debt, consumer awareness, financial responsibility, insurance, and real estate transactions.

• Mandates instruction in personal rights including state election laws, voter registration, the election process, and study of the United States Constitution and Bill of Rights.

• Requires good citizenship instruction covering honesty, respect for authority and property, interaction with law enforcement and courts, legal processes, and prevention of gang and youth violence.
