Disabled veterans who qualify for exemptions from privilege license taxes, registration fees, or ad valorem taxes under Alabama Code Sections 32-6-130, 40-12-244, or 40-12-254 shall also be exempt from the license plate issuance fee under Section 40-12-271.

The exemption applies only to disabled veterans already eligible for existing motor vehicle tax and fee exemptions under current Alabama law.

The act becomes effective January 1, 2021, following passage and approval by the Governor or upon otherwise becoming law.
