AL HB99

Converts three ex officio members of the Department of Senior Services advisory board to voting members: the Commissioner of the State Department of Labor, the State Health Officer, and the Commissioner of the State Department of Human Resources.

Allows each of the three converted voting members to appoint a designee to serve in their place if unable to attend.

Maintains the advisory board's total membership at 16 members composed of 2 Senate members, 2 House members, 3 ex officio/voting members, and 9 members appointed by the Governor.

Requires appointing authorities to coordinate appointments to ensure board membership reflects the racial, gender, geographic, urban/rural, and economic diversity of the state.

Becomes effective on the first day of the third month following passage and approval by the Governor.
