Names a portion of U.S. Highway 72 in Tuscumbia, Alabama "The Billy Shoemaker Highway," extending from the intersection of Old Lee Highway (milepost 21.4) to 1,300 feet east of the US 43 intersection (milepost 28).

Honors Billy Shoemaker's 40-year career with the Alabama Department of Transportation, where he retired as Division Engineer of the Second Division and received a National Special Commendation for Equal Employment Opportunities.

Recognizes his service as Mayor of Tuscumbia for three terms, including oversight of the restoration and renovation of the former United States Post Office Building into City Hall.

Acknowledges his community service including a bronze award from the United Way, Heritage Preservation Award for relocating the Maud Lindsey Kindergarten, and two Tuscumbia Kiwanis Club Citizen of the Year awards.

Directs appropriate state officials to place and maintain signs or markers identifying the highway designation.
