House of Representatives endorses and strongly encourages promotion, sharing, and posting of practices to prevent or reduce the spread of flu and other contagious diseases in Alabama.

Recommends model infection control practices including vigilant hand hygiene, proper cough and sneeze etiquette, annual vaccinations, and receipt of flu antiviral drugs.

Advises regular cleaning and disinfection of frequently touched surfaces at home, work, or school, especially when someone is ill.

Recommends healthy lifestyle practices including adequate sleep, physical activity, stress management, proper hydration, and nutritious food.

Advises those who are not sick to avoid close contact with sick people and wash hands frequently, and those who are sick to maintain distance from others and stay home from work or school when possible.
