Mrs. Alta Faye Hankins Cowling died on March 6, 2020, at age 91, leaving a void in her family and community where she was highly regarded.

She was born November 10, 1928, in Robertsdale, Alabama, graduated from Robertsdale High School, attended Judson College, and married in 1947; she owned and operated Cowling Realty after obtaining her broker's license in the late 1960s.

Mrs. Cowling served as charter member and treasurer of the Rosinton Community Players in the 1950s, was a substitute teacher for Baldwin County Board of Education, and was appointed for 24 years to the Baldwin County Board of Registrars, serving as Chair for 8 years.

She was a lifelong member of the United Methodist Church, served as a Sunday School teacher, and was a founding member of the New Life Prayer Group; she was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, William Bryant Cowling, Sr.

The House of Representatives records her death with deep sadness and offers this resolution in tribute to her life and with sympathy to her surviving family members including one brother, two children, five grandchildren, and 11 great-grandchildren.
