House of Representatives commends Mrs. Bobbie Knight for being named President of Miles College, a historically black liberal arts college.

Mrs. Knight was appointed as Interim President of Miles College in August 2019, becoming the first woman to lead the college since its founding in 1898.

Mrs. Knight is a Birmingham native who worked for Alabama Power for 37 years in multiple executive leadership positions and currently serves as Vice Chair of the Birmingham Airport Authority Board and Chair of the Birmingham Times Media Group Board.

She holds degrees from the University of Alabama at Tuscaloosa, the Birmingham School of Law, and Northwestern University's Kellogg School of Management Executive Leadership Program.

The Alabama House of Representatives dedicates this resolution to Mrs. Knight with gratitude and admiration for her diligence and leadership.
