HR 5 is a memorial resolution mourning the death of John Paul Anderson of Alexander City, Alabama, who died on November 15, 2019, at age 80.

Anderson was born March 20, 1939, served 6 years on active duty in the U.S. Navy, and worked as a newspaper professional, including as Editor and Publisher of The Dadeville Record and Publisher of the Alexander City Outlook.

He worked as a Quality Control Supervisor for Russell Corporation for 20 years and served as a mentor to young men in the newspaper business.

Anderson was an active Deacon of Rocky Creek Baptist Church and affiliated with the Masonic Lodge, holding membership in both Ware and Mt. Eagle Lodges.

He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Wyvolee Lashley Anderson; two sons; four grandchildren; one sister; and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
