Honors New Hope No. 1 Church in Thomasville, Alabama on its 160th anniversary celebration.

Church was founded in the 19th century by Reverend Charlie Robinson and Charlie Yow, with original services held in primitive conditions using shelter built from tree branches.

Early church officers included Deacons King Johnson, July Holt, Ben Franklin Davis, Isaiah Singerton, Abe Megginson, Henry Coats, and Tom Foreman as Clerk and Superintendent.

Church has grown spiritually and structurally over the years with a new building, educational annex, improved facilities, and expanded ministries under dedicated pastoral leadership including current pastor Reverend Anthony D. Kimborough, Sr.

House of Representatives commends the church, its pastor, leaders, and members for 160 years of service to God and the community.
