Honors Dr. Victor B. Lawrence, a National Inventors Hall of Fame inductee inducted in 2016, for his accomplishments in telecommunications and signal processing.

Recognizes Dr. Lawrence's patents for Signal Processing in Telecommunications (U.S. Patent Numbers 4,034,197 and 4,213,187) which improved modern Internet transmission, enabled high-speed connections, and stimulated global Internet growth.

Acknowledges Dr. Lawrence's career at Bell Laboratories where he improved telephone line connections, increased reliability, and developed methods to include more information in signals.

Notes Dr. Lawrence holds a Bachelor of Science Degree, a Diploma of Imperial Science, and a Doctor of Philosophy Degree in Electrical Engineering from The University of London, and currently serves on the faculty of Stevens Institute of Technology.

The Alabama House of Representatives dedicates this resolution to warmly honor Dr. Lawrence with utmost gratitude and admiration for his contributions to technology and advocacy for providing Internet access to less-fortunate countries.
