SB11 Summary

• Requires each removable windshield placard issued to individuals with disabilities to include a photograph of the placard holder taken from their driver's license or non-driver identification card on file with the Department of Transportation.

• Exempts placards issued for use by agencies, organizations, or facilities from the photograph requirement.

• Amends Alabama Code Sections 32-6-230 and 32-6-231 to clarify definitions and requirements for both long-term and temporary disability placards.

• Maintains existing requirements that placards display the International Symbol of Access on a blue shield (long-term) or red shield (temporary) and clearly show an expiration date.

• Becomes effective on the first day of the third month following passage and Governor approval.
