Local boards of education must adopt policies requiring each public K-12 school to broadcast or perform "The Star-Spangled Banner" at the commencement of each school-sanctioned sporting event, with an exception allowing schools to broadcast it at only one event if multiple events occur on the same day at the same location.

Schools must broadcast or perform "The Star-Spangled Banner" at least once per week during school hours at each public K-12 school.

Schools must select recordings from "The Star-Spangled Banner" archived in the Library of Congress and available on its website, or alternatively may use original sheet music from the Library of Congress for performances by school band programs, choral programs, vocal groups, or vocalists.

Schools may allow attendees to perform "The Star-Spangled Banner" together, led by a vocalist selected by the school principal.

The act becomes effective on the first day of the third month following passage and approval by the Governor.
