Chief Executive Officers of the Alabama State Employees Insurance Board and Local Government Health Insurance Board may approve group voluntary work site benefit products with board consent.

Approved group products are limited to voluntary work site benefits and specifically exclude major medical coverage.

Insurance carriers offering these products must be approved under Section 36-1-4.3 of the Alabama Code of 1975 and by the Commissioner of Insurance.

The act becomes effective on the first day of the third month following passage and gubernatorial approval, or upon otherwise becoming law.
