SB251 Summary

• Amends Section 45-2-216.10 of the Code of Alabama 1975 to require Baldwin County Commission to appoint two boards of adjustment instead of four boards.

• Board of Adjustment Number One serves western, central, and northern Baldwin County (Planning Districts 4, 10, 12, 15, 16, 28, 31); Board of Adjustment Number Two serves southern Baldwin County (Planning Districts 20, 21, 22, 23, 24, 25, 29, 30, 32, 33).

• Each board consists of not less than 3 and not more than the same number of regular members as the number of planning districts within its jurisdiction, with at least one member from each planning district.

• Authorizes appointment of alternate members to each board of adjustment, with a minimum of 2 and maximum number equal to regular members; alternates serve only in the absence of regular members.

• Became effective on the first day of the third month following passage and approval by the Governor.
