AL SB261

Amends Section 31-14-3 of the Alabama Code to add two new members to the Alabama Job Creation and Military Stability Commission: one senator and one representative appointed by the Lieutenant Governor from the minority caucus.

Renumbers existing commission member provisions to accommodate the new minority caucus appointees while maintaining all previously established membership positions.

Commission membership continues to include the Lieutenant Governor (chair), legislative leaders, six legislators, retired military members, civic leaders, and heads of state agencies including the Alabama National Guard, Department of Commerce, Department of Veterans Affairs, and Department of Economic and Community Affairs.

Requires appointing authorities to coordinate appointments to ensure the commission's membership reflects the racial, gender, geographic, urban, rural, and economic diversity of the state.

Becomes effective on the first day of the third month following passage and approval by the Governor.
