• Requires the Alabama Medicaid Agency to increase reimbursement rates for nine specific ambulance services provided to Medicaid recipients who are ineligible for Medicare, subject to federal approval.

• Sets reimbursement at 75 percent of the applicable Medicare rate for each level of service to providers licensed by the Alabama Department of Public Health to provide emergency medical services.

• Applies to nine HCPCS ambulance service codes including ground mileage (A0425), advanced life support levels one and two (A0426, A0433), emergency transport (A0427), basic and non-emergency transport (A0428, A0429), air services (A0431), and specialty care transport (A0434, A0436).

• Becomes effective immediately upon passage and approval by the Governor or upon otherwise becoming law.
