• Condominium associations, homeowner's associations, and unit owners' associations are prohibited from adopting or enforcing policies that restrict members from displaying the Alabama state flag on their residential property.

• The flag display restriction applies only to property where the member has a separate ownership interest or exclusive possession or use rights.

• Associations may impose reasonable restrictions on the time, place, or manner of flag display if necessary to protect a substantial interest of the association.

• The act becomes effective on the first day of the third month following passage and approval by the Governor.
