• Requires ALEA to maintain a state concealed carry permit information system linked to driver license records and accessible to law enforcement, and mandates courts report criminal dispositions and involuntary commitments to ALEA within 30 days.

• Authorizes ALEA to conduct background checks every five years on permit holders and revoke permits when individuals become ineligible under the same criteria used for issuance, with permit holders able to appeal revocations to district court within 30 days.

• Effective January 1, 2022, and permits issued before that date remain valid until expiration; repeals Section 13A-11-75.1 regarding retired military permits.
