SB96 Summary

• Transfers the license division duties from Elmore County's judge of probate to the revenue commissioner effective July 1, 2020, including issuance of driver licenses and all other licenses previously handled by the probate office except marriage licenses.

• Transfers responsibility for assessment and collection of ad valorem taxes, registration, and decals for manufactured homes from the revenue commissioner to the revenue commissioner under the new structure, maintaining existing commission and fee arrangements.

• Establishes an annual expense allowance of $16,000 for the Elmore County revenue commissioner payable monthly through September 30, 2021, then transitions to a base annual salary of $95,000 beginning October 1, 2021.

• Sets the Elmore County judge of probate's base annual salary at $98,000 payable in equal monthly installments from the county's general fund effective upon the act's passage.

• Permits both the revenue commissioner and judge of probate to continue receiving cost-of-living increases and other salary increases approved by the county commission; becomes effective July 1, 2020.
