• Commends Hardy McCollum for outstanding service to Alabama and Tuscaloosa County.

• McCollum served as Judge of Probate and Chairman of the Tuscaloosa County Commission beginning in 1976 and was re-elected in 1982, 1988, 1994, 2000, 2006, and 2012.

• He was instrumental in bringing major industrial companies to the area, including Nucor Steel, Mercedes, and JVC, and served as President of the Association of County Commissions of Alabama.

• Recognized numerous honors including 2011 Outstanding Contribution to Government, 2013 Alabama Citizen of the Year, 2014 Alabama Germany Partnership Recognition, and March 2018 Rainer Bauer Award.
