Urges U.S. Congress and the President to provide additional funding for rental assistance to low-income families living in USDA Rural Development Housing units affected by coronavirus-related income disruption.

Approximately 13,000 families live in USDA Rural Development housing units across 437 properties in rural Alabama.

Nearly one-third of these families (approximately 4,000) do not currently qualify for rental assistance and face potential catastrophic consequences from inability to pay shelter costs due to coronavirus income loss.

Many residents in these units are elderly, disabled, or handicapped individuals who qualify for rental assistance.

Directs that a copy of the resolution be forwarded to the President of the United States and members of the Alabama Congressional Delegation.
