• Changes the deadline for the last pre-election campaign finance report from 12:01 p.m. to 11:59 p.m. on the day preceding a legislative, state school board, or statewide primary, special, runoff, or general election.

• Applies to principal campaign committees and political action committees that receive or spend $5,000 or more in the aggregate on that day with a view toward influencing an election's results.

• Deletes obsolete language regarding the 2012 and 2014 election cycles related to electronic filing implementation and facsimile transmission options.

• Makes technical corrections to statutory language by replacing outdated terms with current references (e.g., "promulgate" changed to "adopt").

• Becomes effective immediately upon passage and approval by the Governor.
