HB146 Summary

• Amends Section 22-34-11 of the Code of Alabama 1975 to modify loan repayment requirements for the Alabama Water Pollution Control Authority.

• Allows loan repayment periods to be extended beyond the standard 20 years when required or permitted under the Federal Clean Water Act.

• Extended repayment periods cannot exceed the expected design life of the wastewater treatment project.

• Loan repayment must begin no later than one year after construction completion and recipients must maintain project accounts according to generally accepted government accounting standards.

• Becomes effective immediately upon passage and approval by the Governor.
