AL HB156

Authorizes the Department of Conservation and Natural Resources to issue lifetime hunting, freshwater fishing, and saltwater fishing licenses to disabled U.S. military veterans who are Alabama residents, effective September 1, 2021.

Sets fees for veterans certified 40% or more disabled: $60 (hunting, under 50) / $30 (hunting, 50+), $45 (freshwater fishing, under 50) / $25 (freshwater fishing, 50+), and $45 (saltwater fishing, under 50) / $25 (saltwater fishing, 50+).

Provides reduced fees for 100% service-connected permanently and totally disabled veterans: $45 (hunting, under 50) / $25 (hunting, 50+), with matching fees for freshwater and saltwater fishing.

Requires an additional $1.10 issuance fee per application and deposits collected fees into the Alabama Game and Fish Endowment Fund or Marine Resources Endowment Fund.

Restricts licenses to Alabama residents only, makes licenses non-transferrable, and entitles holders of hunting or freshwater fishing licenses to all privileges of the wildlife heritage license.
