Extends the term of office for newly appointed board members of improvement authorities incorporated under Chapter 7 of Title 39, Code of Alabama 1975, from three years to six years.

Allows one member of a municipality's governing body to be appointed to the improvement authority board, while remaining board members are prohibited from holding any public office under the municipality.

Applies the six-year term requirement only to members appointed after the effective date of the act, leaving existing three-year terms unchanged.

Becomes effective immediately upon passage and approval by the Governor or upon otherwise becoming law.
