HB248 Summary

• Defines "broadcast" as transmitting video or audio via televisions, radios, computers, or Internet-enabled devices.

• Prohibits individuals, firms, corporations, or associations from interfering with or restricting media organizations' ability to cover or broadcast regular season sporting events involving K-12 schools.

• Grants each K-12 school sole authority to determine which media organizations may cover or broadcast its regular season sporting events and to contract for broadcast rights.

• Becomes effective on the first day of the third month following passage and approval by the Governor.
