HB320 Summary

• All state employees in classified and unclassified service, hourly employees, judicial personnel, legislative personnel, and county health department employees subject to the State Merit System shall receive a 2 percent salary increase effective with the first pay day on or after October 1, 2021

• Cost-of-living increase does not apply to local supplements provided to judges or local employees whose salaries are tied to state employees

• Cost-of-living increase does not apply to Merit System or hourly employees whose service or pay rate is covered by any labor agreement or contract

• State Personnel Department, Administrative Director of Courts, and legislative leadership shall revise pay schedules and certify changes to the State Comptroller for warrant issuance

• Required appropriations shall be made in the annual budget act for affected entities; act becomes effective immediately upon passage and Governor approval
