• Amends Section 34-12-30 of the Code of Alabama 1975 to expand nomination authority for the State Board of Registration for Foresters to include both the Alabama Division of the Society of American Foresters and any active state forestry organization meeting board-established criteria.

• The Governor appoints 5 foresters to the board from 10 nominees recommended by the Alabama Division of the Society of American Foresters for initial appointments.

• For successor appointments, the Governor selects from a list of 3 nominees recommended by both the Alabama Division of the Society of American Foresters and qualifying active state forestry organizations.

• The board must adopt rules establishing qualifying criteria for active state forestry organizations to participate in nominating board members.

• The board must annually report to the Legislature by the second legislative day of each regular session on compliance with diversity provisions relating to race, gender, geography, urban/rural distribution, and economic diversity.
