HB 398 Summary

• Removes requirement for the State Licensing Board for General Contractors to transfer unencumbered funds to the State General Fund at the end of each fiscal year.

• Eliminates annual fund transfer requirement for the Alabama Onsite Wastewater Board, except allows retention of up to 25 percent of the board's previous fiscal year budget.

• Removes mandatory transfer provision for the Alabama State Board of Respiratory Therapy that previously required distribution of surplus funds to the General Fund.

• Eliminates the requirement for the Alabama Board of Electrical Contractors to transfer unspent funds exceeding $100,000 to the State General Fund annually.

• Becomes effective immediately upon passage and approval by the Governor.
