• Extends the sales tax exemption for parts, components, and systems used in fixed or rotary wing military aircraft from May 30, 2022 to May 30, 2032.

• Removes language that previously allowed the exemption to be extended by joint resolution, making 2032 the permanent expiration date.

• Applies to aircraft parts that undergo conversion, reconfiguration, or general maintenance when the aircraft is not registered in Alabama for FAA purposes.

• Exemption does not apply to local sales taxes unless previously exempted by local law or approved by local governing body resolution.

• Becomes effective immediately upon passage and gubernatorial approval.
