Applies only to Sumter County and changes how the county commission chair and vice-chair are selected beginning the first November after the bill's effective date.

County commission shall select its chair and vice-chair by majority vote during the organizational meeting in November (either following a county commission election or during the first meeting in November in non-election years).

Chair's compensation beginning the first month after effective date shall equal 80 percent of the Judge of Probate's annual compensation from the preceding fiscal year ending September 30, with this amount serving as an expense allowance in addition to any other salary.

Vice-chair shall receive a monthly expense allowance of $250 per month beginning the first month after the bill's effective date, paid from the county general fund and in addition to any other salary.

Effective beginning the next term of office for the county commission, the chair's annual salary becomes 80 percent of the Judge of Probate's compensation (in lieu of other salaries), and the vice-chair receives an additional $250 monthly payment.
