Dale County Sheriff receives an additional expense allowance of $15,000 per annum, payable in equal monthly installments from the county general fund, effective the first day of the month following the act's passage.

The $15,000 expense allowance may be treated as compensation for retirement contributions.

Beginning with the expiration of the incumbent sheriff's term, the annual salary increases by $15,000 per annum, payable in equal monthly installments from the county general fund.

The expense allowance provision becomes void once the salary increase takes effect upon the incumbent sheriff's term expiration.

The act became effective immediately upon passage by the House on March 2, 2021, and the Senate on March 11, 2021.
